Christina Hoff Sommers discusses Mary Eberstadt’s book on sex & identity politics | LIVE STREAM

In her new book “Primal Screams: How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity Politics” (Templeton Press, 2019), writer and social critic Mary Eberstadt argues that the extended family has always been the fundamental source of human identity. But as sexual liberation has contributed to the decline of the family, generations of people have been set adrift in society, unable to find purpose and belonging. Without the organic family, they have created identity-based tribes in which they can begin to build some sense of self. This has led to identity politics and a culture of perpetual outrage.

Please join AEI for a discussion between Resident Scholar Christina Hoff Sommers and author Mary Eberstadt about the rise of identity politics and the role that the sexual revolution has played in its development.
