Thank conservatism for women’s rights ft. Allie Stuckey | #TruthStraightUp

The myth that progressive feminism has been the driving force behind the advancement of women in America is simply untrue.

Every injustice against the foundational idea of equality that has been perpetrated in our country has been a DENIAL of the founding principles upon which we were founded.

Likewise, every justice that we have enacted as a response has been a RETURN to the principles enshrined in our founding documents.

Any advancement we have seen in women’s rights in America—or civil rights in general—can be attributed to the values espoused by the founding documents, not the progressive movement.

There is this myth that the advancement of women’s rights can be attributed entirely to feminism, and that’s just not true.

Every injustice that America has perpetrated since its founding, and there have been a few, like slavery, segregation, and Jim Crow, has been a divergence away from what our founding documents say: all men are created equal, they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them being life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

And every justice we have enacted, every civil rights movement that we’ve had or advancement that we’ve had, has been a going back to what our founding documents say, going back to what our founding values are, that all men and women are created equal.

Any advancement that we have seen in women’s rights has been because we have gone back to the truth upon which we were founded, not because of progressive feminism.
